Ruiz is a Journalism student at Howard Community College in Columbia, MD. He was born in Silver Spring, Maryland, and has lived in Maryland his entire life.
In 2005, Steven was saved from a life of begrudgingly rooting for a team owned by an old curmudgeon, whose name rhymes with Peter Angelos. He instantly became a fan of the curly W’s, if only for them saving him from a life of disappointment and having to listen to Jim Palmer. He truly fell in love with the Nationals on a late April night in 2005. After a long rain delay, Brian Schneider (he will always be a Nat in my heart) smacked a game-tying double off of, then Braves’ closer, Danny Kolb in the 9th.
You can say Steven’s views on the Nats are similar to Rob Dibble’s glasses; sometimes they are light, and sometimes dark. No matter how down he gets on his Nats, he will always love them.
